With a passion and commitment for the well-being of young people, I have over ten years experience working in Education. I have worked with children from age 3 to 18 years both in and out of school setting, in the UK, Ghana, Romania and New Zealand. It was during a voluntary teaching placement, in a Liberian Refugee Camp in Ghana, I was inspired to train as a teacher and qualified in 2008.
The mindful aspect of yoga is really what has drawn me in and in 2015, I became a certified children's mindfulness teacher with Paws b.
A commonly used definition of mindfulness; "Mindfulness is the awareness that arises from paying attention in a particular way; on purpose, in the present moment, and non-judgmentally" (Jon Kabat Zinn 1990)
During a trip to India in 2011, I completed a one month intensive teacher training in Arhanta Yoga Ashram and was inspired to make yoga accessible to children, as well as adults and subsequently trained as a children's yoga teacher with Yoga Beez.
